My Story

​

Hello, my name is Kay. Thanks for taking the time to check out my website! This is the space where I get to show you exactly what it is I do, and how I can help you.

​

But first, I think an introduction is in order. A bit of information about me, so that when you book with me, then you know who you're dealing with and I won't seem like such a stranger. So here goes...

 I am a South African girl, born and raised in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Still here actually, in Mt Edgecombe. I love Durban as it's home and the weather's always warm (well most of the time anyways). I'm a big baby in the cold! I live with my husband and family in an old house that's been around for a hundred years or so, along with 2 yorkies and a ginger cat that visits from time to time. I also have 2 other cats that reside with my sister down the South Coast in Umkomaas, a mere 45 minutes drive from me, which means that every other week I get to spend time for a few days with my sister (and mom who lives down the road from her), and my 8 year old niece who keeps us all on our toes!

I love the outdoors - camping, hiking, nature trails, beach, waterfalls, outdoor trance festivals... Anything that means I'm spending time in nature. I believe that nature is healing, and when we can connect with her, Mother Earth, then we can more easily tap into our Chi, the energy of LIFE. My absolute favourite thing to do is get up early in the morning in Summer, go for a run on the promenade and then sit on a warm beach afterwards, while listening to music, meditating and taking in the sea air! This is a routine that I got into about 6 years ago. And now, my body craves it.

I also love dancing. Moving my body to the rhythm of the tunes. I love how my body supports me- a realization that I had a few years ago when I learnt to love ME. When I learnt to love myself, and changed my negative self-talk to words of love and kindness, then I started feeling healthier, looking younger, feeling more energized, positive and happy. That's when it all changed for me.

Growing up, I was a shy child. Very quiet around my peers and classmates. I carried that through my teens and into adulthood, to the point where I suffered with social anxiety, and feeling like I was never good enough and always being judged. I grew up to be a people-pleaser, making sure everyone liked me and never had anything bad to say. I used to put myself down and worry about my next awkward moment around people, or would run circles in my head about what I wished I could've changed in the past- of what I could've said to someone or what more I should've done to make them happier, even though I was giving the very best I had. You see, worrying about the future is called 'anxiety', and worrying about the past is called 'depression'. These are both symptoms of the mind- a mind that operates on a low vibration. 

​

And so, over time, as I got more into holistic wellness, then I began to change the way my mind works. Holistic means that all aspects of the 'Self' are considered. So when I refer to Holistic Wellness or Holistic Healing, then I am referring to all the aspects of the Self that are included in Wellness or Healing. We are not just a physical body, but we are also made up of the mind, emotions and spirit. There needs to be balance in all these areas if we are to thrive and be healthy. Only when there is imbalance in 1 or more of these areas, then we experience Dis-Ease or Dis-Harmony. Ease and Harmony can only occur when all these areas are balanced.

​

Metaphysically, every disease, illness or disorder experienced, has an underlying cause... A relation to a previous life-trauma that was never dealt with, or ignoring the gut or intuition. Your body has an amazing way of letting you know if something is not right in your life. We are all a part of the greater whole. The life-force energy, Chi, which runs within you and me, also runs within every other life-form. This energy is present in the plants around us, in the rocks, in animals, in electricity, in the air and in the Universe. 

​

This Chi uses energy vibration. And, fundamentally, this creates the world and everything in it- All vibrating at different frequencies. When we can understand this, then we can begin to understand how our thoughts create emotions within us, and how we can then effect our own reality.

How I Can Help You

It was through my own desire to overcome my shyness and social anxiety, that I started looking for ways to help me achieve this. I came across Specialized Kinesiology + Integrated Healing. Two beautiful modalities that allow me to tap into your subtle energy-body to help you overcome and heal from stored emotion and trauma, and rewrite self-limiting programs in the subconscious mind, into new positive and empowering ones so that you can live your best life.

​

Through my background in massage therapy, I learnt how to heal the body on a physical level, using energy and intuition, but now with the knowledge of Kinesiology and Integrated Healing, I am able to assist the healing at an emotional and soul level too.

My objective is to help my clients fall in love, and connect to the fullness of who they really are. To help them build their own confidence, make them feel calm and collected, help them connect with their inner being and their own guidance system, and assist their bodies to heal themselves.
